Having supplied Petrochem Aluzinc® to TICA’s Training Centre in Darlington for many years, enabling students to learn and practice their fabrication technique under the watchful eye of their supervisors, SSAB Swedish Steel Ltd is now proud to sponsors an award that celebrates the skills and achievements of Level 3 students.

During their studies each student has demonstrated their competence in fabrication, insulation and finishes to complex surfaces, gaining both a Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Thermal Insulation and their Gold CSCS Card. Students also study Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision a qualification that allows them to become supervisors working in the construction sector gaining skills including coordinating, organising work and importantly maintaining health and safety on-site.

Whilst all students have shown levels of practical skills in the workshop and in their studies to gain their qualifications, this year’s outstanding student has exhibited levels of dedication ‘over and above’ the normal high levels required by TICA students.

The 2017 winner will have their award and a cheque for £1000 presented to them by Phil Lancaster of SSAB Swedish Steel Ltd at the forthcoming TICA Annual Dinner and Award Ceremony in Manchester on the 5th October.
